About Me

Hello, everyone, my name is Jinjing Qiu. I moved to the U.S. two years ago from China. Before that, I earned my Bachelor Degree in English and worked as a translator for two years. Since I am always interested in the medical field, and after I watched the full series of Grey’s Anatomy, I made up my mind to study to be a nurse. Currently, I am enrolled in the Concurrent Nursing Program with Tidewater Community College and Old Dominion University. I’ve been in the nursing program at TCC for half a year and I really enjoy taking in new knowledge every day. After I receive my nursing degree in one year and a half, I hope to work on the medical surgical floor at a hospital to expand my nursing knowledge. With several years of nursing experience, I will apply for the medical program at Eastern Virginia Medical School. My backup plan is applying for the family nurse practitioner program at ODU.

I’m also a wife of a very supportive husband and a mother of a two-year-old girl, who keeps me busy but happy every day after school. I enjoy going crabbing with my family and friends at Bennett’s Creek Park at summer time. I also enjoy going out to eat buffets and watch movies with my family during my free time. I have two hermit crabs and a fish as pets. I love them and they are very easy to take care of. Sometimes I feel down with all the readings and assignments due, but the kind words and encouragement from my classmates and family keep me stay positive and confident. In this new semester, I hope to work with you all, and good luck with everybody’s studies!
